The Passive House standard [PH] is progressively being adapted in many recent projects. Related appropriate building components are therefore demanded to be incorporated in performance specifications, and ultimately in the construction. For building physics enthusiasts and advocates, thankfully, this creates great opportunities to implement definite game changing potentials.

The Building Envelope contributes approximately eighty percent of the central PH fundamental principles [Super Insulation, Airtight Construction, Thermal bridge free interfaces, High performance Glazing]. All these are firmly imbedded into Gamma’s PHACTOR II envelope.

Throughout the course of this session, emphasises are on the strategies implemented to enhance building envelopes’ qualities, and ultimately help you achieve PH certification.

Ehab Naim Ibrahim, B.Arch., Dipl. Ing. Architekt, MRAIC, BSS®, LEED® AP, CPHD

Ehab focuses on building envelopes’ improvements, developing innovative solution, and establishing non-traditional façade concepts. He started with Gamma North America in 2019 after 25 yrs with WSP and other Canadian and German consulting and architectural firms. Ehab is a Member of the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada, LEED® AP, Building Science Specialist [BSS®], and a Certified Passive House Designer [CPHD]. Ehab served as the president of the Ontario Building Envelope Council [OBEC] 2019-2021, and helps as a guest lecturer, design studio workshop assistant in various programs. He’s the registered inventor of the patented first North American Passivhaus Certified Unitized CurtainWall.
