Topic
Understanding and integrating climate data is essential for designing buildings that are resilient to the impacts of climate change. The Canadian Centre for Climate Services (CCCS) provides resources – ranging from clear explanations of climate science to comprehensive historical and future climate datasets – developed to support informed decision-making in building design. In this presentation, we will explore climate data resources available to building professionals, including future climate zones, weather files for building simulations, and climatic design values. By applying these datasets, designers can optimize building envelopes and systems to withstand changing climate conditions, supporting buildings’ long-term durability and resilience.
