Knowledge Bites Series - Responding to Noise Complaints in Buildings

August 12, 2026 12:00 PM - 01:00 PM

This session is a practical, field-focused look at how to handle noise and vibration complaints in occupied buildings. It is aimed at building science teams to present a clear, consistent way to triage these types of complaints. We will cover the scenarios that come up most: noise between suites, sound from common areas and building systems (HVAC, elevators, garage doors), and intermittent “mystery” noises. The goal is to clarify what you can reasonably sort out internally, and when it makes sense to bring in an acoustics specialist.
